MakeYourEra Releases Debut Dance DnB Record with a Jump Up crunch by HL x Elvii: "Fighting For Freedom"
We at MYE Records (Vibe Chemistry's record label) are buzzing to announce the release of "Fighting For Freedom," the debut single from HL X Elvii on MYE. This track marks Elvii's first official debut release and is driven by the empowering energy of HL's music production. "Fighting For Freedom" is a cross over between a strong, vocal-led message highlighting personal frustration with a catchy jump up inspired crunch that makes it truly stand out like no other record out there.
Released on 6th February 2026 (MYE109), "Fighting For Freedom" is an electronic dance dnb single that positions itself between jump up and commercial EDM/DNB. Having underground credibility and commercial accessibility this record doesn't quite fit into one subgenre of drum and bass. With the dancefloor in mind, this song was written from personal frustration; wanting to escape your 9-5 job to pursue your dreams. This track works across environments, equally at home, on festival speakers, clubs, raves or even for those intimate headphone sessions.
HL pushes back against typical jump up drum and bass with this vocal dominated record. Teaming up with vocalist Elvii who debuts for the very first time, setting levels for her first released record ever. Otherwise your world will only feel smaller and smaller.
About the Artist
HL is a rising independent UK-based drum & bass music producer whose sound blends forward-driven energy with a growing sense of structure and control. Emerging from a DJ background, his productions focus on impact, clarity and longevity, balancing mainline appeal with underground weight as he continues to refine his artistic direction. HL told us he is inspired by artists such as Sub Focus, Kanine and KMotionz. Elvii is an independent singer songwriter, UK-based the vocalist brings emotional clarity and confidence to drum and bass. Her writing is rooted in lived experience, favouring honest expression over excess. As an emerging artist, she is building a voice-led identity that centres songwriting and connection in her work. This record is her debut record. Elvii told us she is inspired by artists like Wilkinson, Hybrid Minds and Charlotte Plank.
The story behind creating "Fighting For Freedom" We sat down with HL X Elvii and ask them about the creative process behind the creation of their latest record. HL told us he was working in his university studio, feeling inspired by his playlist that included Andromedik, KMotionz and Sub Focus songs which sparked the idea for him to create. HL sent the instrumental to Elvii after finding her on socials performing covers. Elvii told us when she received the track she could not wait to begin to create, she never heard anything like it before and she loved it.
Elvii began writing lyrics to the track after a tough day at worked, she felt stuck in a corporate job when all she really wanted to be doing was channeling her pented up creativity into music. The writing process came out so naturally where this suppressed emotion had to come out one way or another, which has led us to such an empowering record and we can truly relate to.
