Itro's MYE debut with Backfire, featuring vocal power house, ELVII
Founded by Vibe Chemistry, MakeYourEra Records annouces a brand new debut artist to our roster; Itro. Itro delivers some serious dancefloor drum n bass, a flavour of sound that is creative, heated and unique. Itro's debut to MYE Records, "Backfire" features vocalist ELVII. ELVII released her debut single with us early 2026, "Fighting For Freedom." The combination of both artists different approaches to DNB makes them a match made in heaven musically. "Backfire" was written with karma in mind; rage, consequences and what happens when you feel betrayed. It is a must listen, a must scream the lyrics out, a must dance!
Released on 5th June 2026 (MYE126), "Backfire" is a vocal-led dancefloor drum n bass anthem. Cinematic scale and emotional story telling, this dance single from Itro and ELVII feels incredibly personal - if you have ever experienced fake friends betray you. The deep emotive writing in the lyrics paired with the heavyweight production; we are truly so excited for this records release!

We hear elements of neuro and jump up throughout this dancefloor dnb song, there is a serious cool factor about this tune! When you listen to Backfire, you feel the tension building, the push and pull between emotion and impact, making it not only the perfect track to drop at a rave but also one you'd risk your eardrums for - headphones on full volume!
For Amsterdam-based producer Itro, ‘Backfire’ continues a journey that has seen him evolve from House and Future Bass into Drum & Bass territory while maintaining his instinct for melody and uplifting musicality. With releases on labels including Liquicity and NCS and performances at Liquicity Festival, he has built a catalogue shaped by experimentation and progression.
The collaboration itself began through a direct message after Elvii discovered Itro’s evolving Drum & Bass output online and recognised a natural crossover between their styles. That creative chemistry quickly became apparent as the record developed, evolving through multiple versions before arriving at its final form.
Elvii continues to establish herself as a vocalist capable of bringing both energy and emotional weight into high-tempo electronic music. With a commanding presence and instinctive songwriting approach, she adds a human dimension that gives the collaboration a natural balance. Elvii is a vocalist and songwriter from Kent known for combining emotive songwriting with commanding vocal performances, blending emotional depth with contemporary electronic music. We asked Itro and ELVII the meaning behind the lyrics during an interview,
"Itro: Just like in the lyrics, actions have consequences. Instrumentally this is
represented by the call and response of the bass and the vocal. It backfires.
Elvii: I wrote “Backfire” based on a personal experience I unfortunately
had with someone. It explores what it’s like to recognise a person’s true
colours before anyone else does and how, eventually, that truth comes
out and backfire’s on them for everyone to see."
